Lancashire Loop Trail Run

Lancashire Loop Trail Run is a trail running event scheduled for Sunday 27th September 2026 in Blackpool. The event starts and finishes in the grounds of the Village Hotel on East Park Drive, Blackpool, FY3 8LL. The course focuses on local scenery and passes Marton Mere nature reserve, Herons Reach golf course and Blackpool Zoo, with views of Blackpool Tower and Stanley Park; runners may even hear the roar of a lion.

  • 10K - single 10K loop
  • Half marathon - two loops plus a short out and back
  • Marathon - four loops plus a short out and back
  • Ultra - five loops

The loop is predominantly on trail paths through the country park with a short section on pavement. A six hour time limit applies to the event. Drinks and a mix of sweet and savoury snacks will be provided on course. All finishers receive a bespoke medal and post race goodies.

The event holds Trail Running Association permit 8053 and will be held under UKA rules. Age restrictions apply: entrants aged 18 to 19 may enter up to the marathon distance; entrants aged over 20 may enter any distance. Entry fees vary by distance and affiliation status. A 5k obstacle event at Birkenhead Park on 17 May 2026 where participants climb, crawl and slide over grass and tarmac. Entries support Cancer Research UK fundraising, have a minimum target of £50 and require participants to be 13 or older.

A 3.5 mile fell race near Clitheroe with 1247 ft of ascent, on the partially marked Mearley Clough route. Entry on the day includes a pasta supper and prize vouchers, and under 18s need parental consent.
