Allithwaite 8 - The 10th edition
Allithwaite 8 is a community-focused trail race held at Allithwaite Community Centre, Quarry Lane, Allithwaite LA11 7QJ on the Cartmel peninsula. The course mixes trail, fell and quiet roads and covers about 8 miles / 13 km. The route is marked and marshalled.
The event supports local causes; a portion of proceeds goes to the local school, the community centre and other projects. Organisers offer a special item for the 10th edition and a range of prizes including cash and local food and drink for open categories, plus prizes for veterans and under-18s.
Entries opened in July 2026 and the event is currently full; new entries are placed on a waiting list. Entry fees (relative to the event date) are shown as £9 for under 18s and £15 for seniors. Minimum age on race day is 16 years, with parental consent required for under-18s.
There are practical arrangements at race headquarters: toilets and refreshments are available, water is provided at the finish and competitors are asked to bring a cup. Dogs are not allowed on the course or in the Community Centre. Limited free parking is available close to the venue; car-sharing and alternative transport are encouraged.
