The event starts and finishes at the Pewsey Scout Hut in Wiltshire. The course routes pass through numerous areas of archaeological significance, including the Avebury Stone Circle, Windmill Hill, and the Wansdyke. Other notable landmarks along the way include Silbury Hill, Tan Hill, and the Giant's Grave.
Participants can choose from four different distances:
- 35 miles (actual distance 35.4 miles)
- 26 miles (actual distance 26.6 miles)
- 17 miles (actual distance 16.9 miles)
- 10 miles (actual distance 10.6 miles)
The organizing team provides light refreshments at all checkpoints and a light meal at the finish. All participants are required to bring their own mug and eating utensils. The event caters to vegetarians, with some vegan and gluten-free options potentially available. Entry is limited to 300 participants, and all finishers receive an e-certificate.
The course is self-navigated via GPX tracks and written route descriptions, which must be downloaded in advance as printed versions are not provided at the start. All entrants must complete the course by 20:00. Runners are required to begin their activity after a specific time to coordinate with checkpoint opening hours.
