Petzl Night Trails 10k - Coombe Abbey (March)

The event takes place on 9 March 2027 at Coombe Abbey Park, CV3 2AB, Coventry. It is a trail race covering 10 km on an adapted winter route used between October and April.

The route runs through woodland, meadow and grass fields. Underfoot conditions will vary with recent weather and may be muddy or firm. Runners should expect exposed tree roots, uneven surfaces and a few gates to navigate. The course is undulating but not hilly.

The race is held after dark so a head or chest torch is mandatory; entries without a torch are not permitted to run. Representatives from Petzl may attend with demo kit for participants to try.

Parking at the venue costs up to £3 for 1-2 hours. A toilet block is located next to the event HQ. Coombe Abbey Park is on the outskirts of Coventry, about six minutes from Junction 2 of the M6; the nearest train station is Coventry.

Entry fees follow a tiered structure: before 09/02/2027 the fee is £16, after that date it is £21. Unaffiliated entrants pay an additional £2. Biodegradable cups with water or electrolyte will be available on course; bringing a collapsible cup is optional. The effective cut-off is two hours due to medic cover and available daylight.

Participants receive a medal and some goodies or, as an alternative, a Big Bear Tree Token which supports tree planting and contains wildflower seeds. There is an option to make a donation to Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity; donations made during entry are passed to the charity.
