Petzl Night Trails 10K - Coombe Abbey (March)
The event is a night-time trail race of approximately 10 km held at Coombe Abbey Park (CV3 2AB), Coventry. The course runs through woodland, meadow and grass fields and includes exposed tree roots, uneven surfaces and several gates. Between October and April the organiser uses an adapted winter route that omits the usual meadow section; the route is undulating but not hilly.
A head or chest torch is mandatory for all runners. Petzl may attend with demo head torches and kit for participants to try; their presence will be confirmed closer to the event. Dogs are not permitted because a tighter out-and-back section could cause congestion.
Facilities at the venue include a toilet block next to the race headquarters. Parking is available on site and costs up to £3 for 1-2 hours. The park is on the outskirts of Coventry and is about six minutes from Junction 2 of the M6; the closest train station is Coventry.
The organiser operates tiered pricing: entries before 09/02/2027 are £16, entries after that date are £21, and unaffiliated entrants pay an extra £2. There is no booking fee. Biodegradable cups with water or electrolyte will be available on course. There is an effective cut-off of two hours based on medical cover. Finishers receive a medal and goodies or, alternatively, a tree token that funds tree planting and contains wildflower seeds. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
