Pen Park Trails Fest

Pen Park Trails Fest is a trail running event and outdoor celebration held in Peninsula State Park in Fish Creek, Wisconsin. Runners start and finish at Welcker's Point Shelter. Participants receive a race hoodie, a completion medal, a post-race beer or nonalcoholic beverage, and course support including on-course nutrition.

Distances

  • 30K: 30 kilometer course on gravel and single-track trails
  • 14K: 14 kilometer course on mixed park trails

The 30K course begins on a notable two-mile gravel segment, then continues on single-track and multi-use trails. The route ascends and descends the Niagara escarpment multiple times and visits the tops of Sven's and Eagle bluff before returning to Welcker's Point Shelter, where food and beverages are available.

The 14K follows the same gravel approach for its opening miles, then separates from the 30K near mile 5. It includes several climbs, a climb of Sven's bluff, and multiple longer descents within the park, finishing at Welcker's Point Shelter with food and beverages.

Both distances use a six-hour time limit; the 30K includes a strictly enforced midpoint cutoff at the Eagle Panorama Aid Station (mile 14.2). The event will contribute proceeds to the Friends of Peninsula State Park for trail development and maintenance.

The organizer does not offer refunds. Registration may be transferred to another person through the official transfer process; giving a bib directly to another participant is forbidden and will result in disqualification. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
