Peak Raid Race 2 Edale

Peak Raid Race 2 Edale is a fell running event in Edale on 18 October 2026. It is part of a series of four three hour races across the Peak District, using moorland and limestone dales with varied terrain and footpaths. The event uses a score format with SiTiming; competitors receive a waterproof map and a control description with points values and then select their own route to visit controls within a three hour time limit. Points are lost for late return.

The event requires good route choice and navigation skills. Competitors may enter solo or as pairs and may walk or jog. Age categories are determined by age on 31 December 2026 and pairs are placed in the category of the older competitor. The minimum age for a junior competitor is 14. A parent or guardian entry may include one junior under 18; the adult must be over 21 and be the parent or guardian or an appointed accompanying adult.

There are 15 competition categories, including male and female veteran classes and mixed pairs. Prizes are awarded to first second and third places in each category with eligibility requiring completion of at least two races; categories with six or fewer entrants receive only first prize. Dogs are not allowed. All competitors must carry the FRA mandatory minimum kit: waterproof jacket and trousers with taped seams and attached hood hat gloves map compass whistle emergency food and a survival bag; kit will be checked.
