Event overview

Peak Raid Race 3 - Alstonefield is a fell running event on 16 November 2025 in Alstonefield, part of the Peak Raid 2025 series. The series comprises four separate 3-hour races: Race 1 Edale on 21 September 2025, Race 2 Hayfield on 12 October 2025, Race 3 Alstonefield on 16 November 2025, and Race 4 Eastern Moors and Burbage Valley on 7 December 2025. The event is organised by Explorer Events and uses SiTiming.

Entry fees vary by booking period, ranging from £20 to £25, with a £2 reduction for FRA members. Entries opened on 11 February 2025 and close on 13 November 2025. Entries so far: 138. Minimum age is 14 on the event date.

Format, categories and rules

The event uses a score format with a three-hour time limit. Competitors receive a waterproof map, control descriptions and a points value sheet. Participants select their own route to visit controls and score points; late arrival incurs point penalties. Terrain includes high moorland and limestone dales with varied footpaths, requiring route choice and navigation skills. SiTiming is used and kit checks are carried out.

Mandatory kit follows the FRA minimum: waterproof whole body cover (jacket and trousers with taped seams and attached hood), hat, gloves, map (provided), compass, whistle, emergency food and a survival bag. Categories total 15: ten solo or pairs categories and five mixed pairs categories. Pairs may enter all categories and age category is based on the oldest competitor.
