Peak Raid Race 4 Alstonefield South

Peak Raid Race 4 at Alstonefield is a three hour fell running score event held in the Peak District hills, moors and dales. Competitors receive a waterproof map with control descriptions and a points value sheet, then have three hours to select a route and visit as many controls as possible. Points are lost for lateness.

The event is part of a four race series that uses SiTiming and a score format; each competitor’s best three results count towards the overall league. Entrants may compete solo or as pairs. The minimum age for competitors is 14. For pairs, the age category is determined by the age of the oldest runner and there are separate categories for women, men and mixed pairs, plus a parent or guardian and under 18 category that requires the adult to be over 21.

To be eligible for prizes, entrants must complete at least two races; prizes are normally awarded to first, second and third in each category, with only first prize awarded if a category has six or fewer finishers. Dogs are not permitted. All competitors must wear or carry the FRA Mandatory Minimum Kit: waterproof whole body cover with taped seams and attached hood, hat, gloves, map, compass, whistle, emergency food and a survival bag.
