PB&J 50k + 25k : Prince William Forest Park trail competition

The PB&J is a trail competition held in Prince William Forest Park on runnable, rolling trails. The event uses a lollipop course through shaded, undulating terrain that includes creeks and swinging bridges and a mix of smooth and technical singletrack.

The start and finish are at the Telegraph Road Pavilion near the park visitor center and the Joplin Road entrance. The course is well marked and includes three aid station locations per loop: Mawavi Road, Turkey Run Education Center, and the Start/Finish aid station. The total ascent and descent for the full course is about 2,500 feet. GPX files and a marked map are provided for both distances.

Distances

  • 50 km - two identical 16 mile loops, 9 hour time limit
  • 25 km - one 16 mile loop, 4 hour time limit

Entry opens on September 15, 2026 at 9:00 am and is limited to 110 runners. There is no formal entry fee; participants are asked to bring one aid station food or drink item for the common aid. The event operates with volunteer aid stations and picnic style support. The organizing club does not provide on course medical personnel or medical supplies; runners are responsible for their own health and emergency care in this remote setting.
