Event information
The Patriotic Pursuit offers three distance categories on January 31, 2026, at Williamsport Park in Williamsport, Maryland. Distances included are:
- 5k - out-and-back on a flat, gravel canal trail
- 10k - two laps of the 5k course
- Half - runs along the same C&O Canal Trail section
The event is chip timed. Runners receive a finisher’s medal and a technical (drifit) event shirt. A virtual run option is available. The event benefits Semper Fi & America’s Fund. Live results will be posted online and a QR code at the race will provide immediate access; final results with series points are posted the Monday after the race.
Course and race services
The course follows a flat gravel section of the C&O Canal Trail beside the river. Water stations are placed at approximately mile markers 0.5 and 2.6 on the 5k, and at approximately 0.5, 2.6, 3.1, 3.6, and 5.7 on the 10k; Gatorade is available at some stations. Portajohns are located in the park. Packet pickup is available at the event; the organizer recommends arriving about one hour before the event to check in. Race day registration is offered; t-shirt sizes are guaranteed for runners registered before January 21. Awards include top 3 men and women overall and 1st and 2nd in standard age groups; overall top-3 finishers are not eligible for age-group awards. Volunteers are assigned tasks on race morning.
