P&A Race for Our Retrievers offers organized run/walk events at Cynwyd Heritage Trail. Distances include:
- 5K Run/Walk
- Adult 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk (ages 13+)
- Child 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk (ages 3-12)
Top male, female, and child finishers in the 5K receive a prize. Every participant receives a medal and a t-shirt. Registration fees for the 5K are listed as $35 through October 3, $40 from October 4 through November 2, and $45 on race day. The adult 1-mile fee is $30 through October 3, $35 from October 4 through November 2, and $40 on race day. The 1-mile fee for children 12 and under is $15 through race day. Location and purpose
The event takes place at Cynwyd Heritage Trail and Bala Cynwyd Park, 374 Trevor Lane, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004. The race supports Paws and Affection, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) that trains and places service, facility, and companion dogs with young people who have a range of disabilities in the greater Philadelphia area and works to educate the public about service dogs and their role in the community.
