Schuylkill Navy Run

The Schuylkill Navy Run is an annual road and cross country race organized by the Schuylkill Navy. The course covers 5 and 5/8 miles over hilly terrain, beginning at Malta Boat Club on Kelly Drive. Runners proceed outbound on Kelly Drive, pass Brewery Hill, cross the Girard Avenue bridge, continue on Lansdowne Avenue, then move onto a grassy cross country segment that passes the Meade Monument and the Pagoda entrance before climbing to Belmont Plateau and returning to Kelly Drive and Malta.

Eligibility is limited to members of Schuylkill Navy clubs and affiliated organizations; nonmember friends and family may enter as guests and are eligible for separate guest prizes but do not count toward team scoring. Divisions include Juniors, Masters (age 40 and over), Open, Guests, and Novice. Team scoring counts the first five finishers for men's teams and the first three finishers for women's teams. Running with an incorrect bib leads to disqualification and a team penalty.

Entries are processed through Regatta Central with a standard fee and a higher fee after the posted deadline; late entries are accepted only on site at Malta on the morning of the race. Race results and historical winners are posted after the event. The award ceremony is hosted at the Fairmount Rowing Association. Prize donations are solicited each year with a stated minimum donation and recognition on donated prizes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
