Oxbow 50k

Carberry, Canada • 2 May 2026

Overview

The Oxbow 15/50 is a trail running event held within Spruce Woods Provincial Park in Manitoba. The race takes place on the Trans-Canada, Epinette, and Yellowquill trails. This event acknowledges its location on the ancestral lands and traditional territory of the Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene Peoples, as well as the homeland of the Metis Nation.

Course Details

The event features a course described as having relentless elevation changes. There are two primary distances available:

  • 50 km: This distance follows the Epinette trails to Cabin 3 before returning to the trailhead. Participants then head south on the Trans-Canada Trail to complete two loops of the Yellowquill trails.
  • 15 km: This distance covers a single loop of the Yellowquill Trail, using the Trans-Canada Trail to connect back to the finish line at the Epinette trailhead.

Logistics and Support

Registration is capped at 100 participants across both distances. The event is a cup-free race, meaning runners must bring their own hydration containers to use at aid stations. While aid stations and on-site first aid are provided, participants are expected to carry essential gear and supplies for self-sufficiency.

Entries include a finisher patch for all runners, and 50k participants receive a locally printed t-shirt. A post-race meal is provided for all competitors. Timing is recorded manually, and results are published online following the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
