The race takes place in the Brandon Hills Wildlife Management Area near Brandon, Manitoba, on a single-track trail network of over 50 km formed by a glacial deposit.

The course includes a section called the SPINE that rises above the trees for about 2.5 kilometers and provides prairie views. The 50K has roughly 1200 m of elevation gain and is run as two loops. The 25K and 10K are single-loop courses. The 25K has one aid station near 13 km. The 50K has an aid station at the start/finish and another around 13 km that is visited twice. The 10K has no on-course aid stations.
Practical details and rules: the event is cupless so participants must carry their own method of replenishing fluids. All 25K and 50K runners must carry hydration on course; 10K runners are strongly encouraged to carry fluids. Pacers are not allowed and participants caught with an unregistered pacer may be disqualified. Bib transfers are allowed until August 1, 2026; registrations are non-refundable. The 50K has a 10 hour cutoff and organizers may remove participants for safety or timing reasons. The trail system lacks motor vehicle access which may lengthen emergency response times.
