Outlaw Trail Ultra Half Marathon : event overview
The Outlaw Trail Ultra Half Marathon is a point to point trail run that the organizers describe as an ultra half marathon, meaning it is longer than a standard 13.1 mile half marathon and is about 1.4 miles longer than a true half marathon. The course begins at Diamondfield Jack Campground and finishes at Third Fork Campground. The route is mostly downhill, with the first three miles on Deadline Ridge Road, a rough jeep and ATV track, and the final 10 plus miles on single track trail. The course will be marked with yellow and pink flagging.
Field size is limited to 200 runners. Registration includes a race shirt for those who register by July 15, a unique finisher award, and a post race meal. The registration fee is stated as $85 with Idaho sales tax and processing fees added. There are no refunds, rollovers, or deferral options for race entry fees.
Logistics note that Rock Creek Road is paved to the start and finish, and there is ample parking with signage. A shuttle option is provided but may have delays depending on demand. There is only one aid station on course, located about 3.8 miles in, so runners are advised to carry sufficient hydration and supplies for the longer sections. Event rules prohibit short cutting, dogs on course, and smoking in start and finish areas. The event supports local charities and accepts donated items at the start and finish.
