OUTLAST WACO

OUTLAST is a six hour trail endurance challenge in which participants run a 5K every hour, on the hour. Each lap must be completed within the hour to remain in the event; finishing early allows rest until the next round and missing a lap ends participation. Completing all six rounds grants the OUTLAST medal and a national leaderboard ranking.

Courses are trail based with natural terrain, elevation changes, and variable conditions; some sections may include pavement or gravel. Each 5K is timed individually and the combined time for six laps determines local event winners and national rankings. The fastest runner across all OUTLAST 6 hour events is crowned National Champion and receives $1,000.

Awards and progression are defined by laps completed: 4 laps earns a Grit Earned patch, 5 laps earns a Survivor patch, and 6 laps earns the premium OUTLAST medal. All participants receive a premium OUTLAST Tee. Top male and female finishers at each event are recognized with the 1st Place OUTLAST award. City 1st Place male and female 6 hour champions earn a spot in the Outlast Championship; championship winners receive $1,000 each, separate from the national leaderboard prize.

Aid stations at the basecamp or loop start will provide water, basic hydration, and snacks. This is a cupless event, and participants should bring their own bottle or hydration system. Participants may walk as long as each 5K is finished within the hour, and they may set up a tent or personal aid station. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
