Bear Country Night Trek

Bear Country Night Trek is a nighttime trail running event in Waco, Texas, organized by Texas Outlaw Running. The event uses the Cameron Park trails with the Cameron Park Redwood Shelter listed as the primary location.

Distances offered include:

• 5K trail run
• 10K trail run
• 15K trail run
• Half marathon trail run
• 10K ruck

The course surface is dirt and rocky single track with hilly terrain. The 15K loop shows about 1300 feet of elevation gain. The event is run at night and historically the nighttime temperatures average in the mid to high 70s Fahrenheit. The course is described as fully marked and supported and includes aid station food and hydration, photography, and volunteer staffing. The event does not provide disposable cups so participants should bring their own water carrying system.

Race gear and awards noted for participants include a tri blend tee, a finisher medal that is part of the Texas Summer Night Series collectible set, and a ruck patch. There are first place awards for each distance by gender and a Dead Freakin Last award for the half marathon.

Bear Country Night Trek is part of the Texas Summer Night Series. Series passes are available through June 3, 2026 and may offer up to 20 percent savings; early series registrants and multi race finishers are eligible for select promotional items and series awards.
