Race The Tide
Race The Tide takes place at the Flete Estate in Mothecombe, South Devon. The event offers three races on a mix of private estate tracks, woodland trails, bridle paths, coastal paths and footpaths beside the Erme estuary and the South West Coast Path.
Distances and basic details:
- 8.5 miles woodland trail; racing tide at 7 miles; 2 aid stations; min age 16
- 15.5 miles LONG Half-Marathon; racing tide at 7 miles; 3 aid stations; min age 17
- 28.5 miles LONG Marathon; racing tide at 20 miles; 4 aid stations; min age 18
The long marathon and the long half-marathon require an average running speed of about 4 mph to finish. All courses are fully marked and marshaled, with multiple well-stocked aid stations. First aid is provided on course and at the event headquarters. The event operates a cupless policy; runners must carry water capacity as listed in the compulsory kit requirements.
Compulsory kit notes:
- Half-marathon and marathon runners must carry 1 litre of water, trail shoes, waterproof jacket, whistle, mobile phone with stored emergency numbers, emergency food and a foil blanket.
- Woodland trail runners must carry 250 ml water capacity, trail shoes, mobile phone and a foil blanket.
Free parking is available on event days (usually £6.00 per day). Finishers receive a bespoke event medal and event T-shirts and other merchandise can be reserved for collection on the day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
