OTT Marathon & 10 Mile Race (16 May 2026)

The event takes place on 16 May 2026 at Parkwood Dolygaer, Merthyr Tydfil, CF48 2UR. It is organised by OTT Events Limited. Entries open 27 July 2025 and close 9 May 2026. Minimum age is 18 on the event date. Entry fees are listed separately for UKA members and non-members for each distance. There are currently 3 participants listed.

Course and checkpoints

Both races are based in the Brecon Beacons with start and finish at Parkwood Dolygaer on a looped course. The marathon route passes Pen Y Fan from Graig Fan Ddu, goes up Fan Y Big, then across to Talybont Reservoir and includes a final climb up Tor y Foel. The 10 mile race follows the marathon route to Checkpoint 1 and then returns to Dolygaer on forestry tracks. The marathon has three checkpoints at approximately 7 miles, 14.5 miles, and 20.5 miles. The 10 mile race has one checkpoint at about 7 miles. There is a cutoff at the third marathon checkpoint (20.5 miles) set at six hours from the start.

Entries, kit and finishers

Compulsory kit for the marathon includes a charged mobile phone, minimum 1 litre hydration, foil blanket or bivi bag, 400 kcal emergency rations, basic first aid kit, head torch, compass, whistle, waterproof jacket and trousers, warm layer, hat and gloves, and a bag or rucksack with a reusable cup. Compulsory kit for the 10 mile race includes a first aid kit, bivvy or foil blanket, 500 ml water, waterproof jacket, and a reusable cup. All marathon finishers receive a coaster and a buff.
