The ORRRC Possum Creek 5K Trail Race is a running event scheduled for Tuesday, June 9, 2026. It is presented by the Ohio River Road Runners Club (ORRRC), an all-volunteer, non-profit running club based in Dayton, Ohio.
Course Details
The course covers a distance of 5 kilometers. Participants will run on various terrain surfaces including dirt, gravel, meadow, and grass, with no water crossings. The event has very low elevation gain and loss. The organizers note that trail shoes are not necessary.
Location & Parking
The race starts at the Sycamore Shelter within Possum Creek Metropark, located at 4730 Frytown Road in Dayton, Ohio. Parking is available at the reservable shelter area. Parking on the grass is prohibited. If the main lot is full, additional parking is available at the Pond Parking lot, which involves a half-mile walk to the start and finish line. Carpooling is suggested.
Registration & Fees
Pre-registration is handled through RunSignup. Race-day registration is available online until approximately 15 minutes before the start, with hard copy forms also available. The fees are structured as follows: Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
- $10 for non-members aged 15 and over.
- Free for current ORRRC members and for participants aged 14 and under. Members must provide proof of membership on race day if they did not register online via RunSignup. The event is chip-timed.
