ORRRC Darby Creek Bison 10k Trail Race
The event is a trail running race held at Battelle Darby Creek Metropark, Cedar Ridge parking area, 1775 Darby Creek Drive, Galloway, OH 43119. Darby Creek Metro Park encompasses more than 7,000 acres of prairies, fields, and forests and more than 20 miles of riparian forest along the Big and Little Darby Creeks, which are noted for their diversity of aquatic and terrestrial plants and animals.
The race distance is 10 km. Registration is available online through RunSignup and in person on race day; hard copy registration sheets are also available. Minors may be registered online by a parent or guardian or in person with a parent or guardian present to sign the waiver. Teams and coaches bringing groups of athletes under 18 may collect signed permission slips from parents or guardians and bring them to race day registration.
All participants must check in before the race and attach their assigned timing chip to one shoe; chips are issued at a table identified by a green tablecloth. Organizers recommend arriving at least one hour before the race to park, check in, and warm up.
Fee structure: current ORRRC members run for free when membership is verified via the RunSignup profile or by presenting proof of membership; non-members pay $10 for ages 15 and up; ages 14 and under are free. Award categories include First Overall Male/Female, First Male/Female Masters (40 and over), First Grand Master Male/Female (50 and over), First Male/Female Senior (60 and over). Overall award recipients are not eligible for age group awards. Age group categories: 9 and under (non-competitive), 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 & up.
Animals are not permitted at the event except for clearly identified service dogs; other animals will be removed and will not be issued timing chips or appear in results or photos.
