ORRRC Darby Creek Bison 10k Trail Race

Event Overview

The ORRRC Darby Creek Bison 10k Trail Race is a 10 km trail run presented by the Ohio River Road Runners Club. The event takes place on a Saturday in August at Battelle Darby Creek Metropark.

Course & Location

The race is held in Battelle Darby Creek Metropark. This is the largest Metro Park in the area, featuring more than 7,000 acres of prairies, fields, and forests. The start and finish is at the Cedar Ridge Parking Area. The Darby creeks are known for their diversity of plants and animals.

Registration & Fees

Pre-registration is handled through RunSignup. Participants check in at a green table on race day to receive their timing chip. There is no race-day shirt or finisher medal. The fee structure is as follows:

• Free for all current Ohio River Road Runners Club members.
• $10 for non-members aged 15 and up.
• Free for participants aged 14 and under. Members must show proof of membership on race day if they did not register through the membership profile. There is an option to join the club during registration for $35 per year.

Race Day Details

Race day registration is available online until approximately 15 minutes before the start. Hard copy registration sheets are also available. Organizers recommend arriving at least one hour before the start to park, register, and warm up. The event is chip-timed by volunteer timers. Refreshments are provided.

Awards

Awards are given in multiple categories: Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.

• First overall male and female.
• First male and female masters (over 40), grand masters (over 50), and seniors (over 60). Recipients of these overall awards are not eligible for age group awards. Age group categories range from 10-14 up to 80 & up. The category for 9 and under is noted as non-competitive.
