Occoneechee Speedway Relay

Hillsborough, United States • 15 Feb 2026

Event overview

The Occoneechee Speedway Relay is a team relay held at the Historic Occoneechee Speedway in Hillsborough, North Carolina. Teams of two or four complete a total of 20 laps around the dirt track; each lap is just over 1 km, for a total distance of roughly 13.5 miles. There is no required distance per runner and teams may hand off in any order or after any number of laps.

Registration, fees and race services

Team registration is structured so the first team registrant pays the full team fee to secure a spot; remaining teammates then register to join the existing team without an additional fee. Fees are $120 for a 2-person team and $240 for a 4-person team. Participants receive custom Speedway Relay swag, chip-timed results, snacks and refreshments, and a post-race BBQ. Results and past race records are available for previous years.

Logistics and awards

Pre-race packet pickup is offered at the Bull City Running downtown location the day before the race. Parking at the Speedway itself is not available; teams and spectators are asked to carpool and will be directed to offsite parking with a short walk to the track. Awards are presented to top teams in male, female and co-ed divisions for both 2-person and 4-person categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
