Course and race day

Both races start and finish at the lakeside staging area at Lake Crabtree County Park and run through Wake County’s 286 trail network. Courses use a lollipop layout with a shared 2.1-mile out-and-back stem before entering a clockwise outer loop of forested single-track. Half Marathon entrants complete an additional inner loop and a second lap of the outer loop. Trail surfaces include flowy single-track with hairpin turns, berms, short punchy climbs, and moderate technical sections with roots and rocks.

On-site services and policies

Race staging is on the park’s lakeside lawn. The event provides chip timing, marked trails, aid stations, medical support, post-race food and music, an awards ceremony with contests and giveaways, free downloadable photos, a race tee, and a 3.5" finisher medal. A free Kids "Race for Treasure" is scheduled for children 11 and under. Minimum age rules: racers must be at least 12 to run unaccompanied; ages 8-11 must run alongside a registered parent or guardian unless approved by the race director.
