Oakland Hills Trail Run - October 25, 2025
The Oakland Hills Trail Run was held at Redwood Regional Park in Oakland and on EBMUD trails in Orinda, California. The event offered multiple distances and ran through a forest of tall coast redwoods and mixed chaparral across approximately 1,830 acres.
Distances included:
- 35K
- Half Marathon
- 10K
The race had a total capacity of 300 runners. Parking was available at the Chabot Space and Science Center; carpooling was recommended. Early bib pickup took place the day before at Sports Basement in Berkeley. The 35K distance carried a 6.5 hour time limit.
The event was cupless, so runners were required to carry a personal bottle or reusable cup; collapsible reusable cups were available for purchase at the event for five dollars. Aid stations supplied a variety of foods and drinks such as energy gels and chews, Stroopwafels, trail mix, pretzels, potato chips, Oreos, soda, water, Skratch Labs hydration mix, PBJ sandwiches, fruit, salt tablets, and basic first aid items. Aid stations did not provide anti-inflammatory medicine. Organizers recommended that runners carry at least one 20 ounce bottle.
Race shirts were District Perfect-Tri tri-blend tees with moisture-wicking fabric and UPF 30. To be guaranteed a shirt and size entrants needed to register by October 11, 2025.
Awards included trophies for the top three overall male and female finishers at each distance, special sponsor items for top finishers, custom finisher medals for all finishers, a Dead Last Finisher award, and age-group medals by standard age categories.
Entry fees were non-refundable. A credit worth 50 percent of the original fee could be issued if cancellation occurred at least three weeks before the race; credits expired after one year. Organizers stated there would be no refunds for cancellations within three weeks or for most force majeure situations, though future race credit or deferrals might be offered at their discretion.
