Nuts Summer Trail Race - Balbirnie

The event takes place on 17 May 2026 in the woodlands of Balbirnie Park, Markinch. The race distance is between 4 and 4.5 miles and is run on paths and trails among rhododendrons and a variety of tree species. The event is open to all abilities and is described as novice friendly.

Race headquarters is at 252 Memorial Hall, Betson Street, Markinch. Number collection, toilets, bag storage and limited changing facilities are available there. Parking is strictly not allowed inside Balbirnie Park. Car parking is available in the car park just south of the hall at the primary school and in surrounding streets.

All finishers receive a race medal or memento. Prizes are awarded to the first three overall male and female finishers and to the first male and female in the age categories Over 40, Over 50, Over 60 and Over 70. Entry is by pre entry only. No refunds or deferrals are offered. Free race entry transfers are allowed up to seven days before the event and must be arranged between the participants before notifying the race organiser of any name changes. The event is insured and permitted by the Association of Running Clubs and held under ARC rules. Entry fee is £11 and total places are limited to 100.
