Event Overview

The North Downs Way Ultra Run starts and finishes at St Martha's in Guildford. The route follows sections of the North Downs Way and surrounding areas, including Box Hill. Participants run as a guided group, led by an experienced ultra runner and coach. The event is not a race.

Route Details

The run explores trails through the Surrey Hills. It passes through small villages and Denbies Wine Estate before reaching the top of Box Hill. There is a stop for refreshments at this point. The return journey to Guildford follows the North Downs Way westbound, passing Newland's Corner and St Martha's church.

Participant Requirements

A prerequisite is the ability to comfortably maintain an average pace of 10 min/mile or 6 min/km for prolonged periods on trail. Organizers advise having run at least 22 miles in training prior to the event. First-time ultra runners are encouraged. A full kit list will be provided, and there is an option to test specific trail shoes during registration.
