North 100 - Whythra Bys Vyken 100 milers
North 100 is a group event of five runners completing 100 mile trail runs in Cornwall. The organisers offer three current routes: Bude to Gwithian, Coverack to Porthtowan and Plymouth Sound to Coverack. The base is at 64 Trelowarren Street, Camborne TR14 8AH.
The event is a self-navigation team format. All five runners start together and are crewed for the duration; the crew meets the team every 5 to 6 miles and will transport runners around any ferry crossings. Runners may bring one box of gear or food (50 x 50 x 40 cm). Drop off and collection are arranged from the base.
There is a 36 hour completion limit. Entry requires previous experience: completion of a 100k event in under 20 hours and experience of night running. Participants must carry a mandatory kit list and provide an emergency contact who can collect them if needed. Organisers provide water, Pepsi, sweets, crisps and simple hot food; personal nutrition must be supplied by each runner.
Medical incidents are managed by the event team and staff hold first aid qualifications. A major medical incident will cause event cancellation. Each event entry costs £110 non-refundable; if a place is filled after withdrawal a refund may be possible. Finishers receive a Whythra Bys Vyken 100 miler buckle.
