Norris Ultra Dam Hard Trail Race

The Norris Ultra Dam Hard Trail Race takes place on Saturday November 14, 2026, at Norris Dam State Park in Rocky Top. The event starts and finishes at the pavilion near the Tea Room.

Race options include:

  • 25k, one loop, 4:40 time limit
  • 50k, two loops, 9 hour time limit; halfway aid station rules apply

Both courses use single track trails and jeep roads that cross Norris Dam State Park and the Norris Municipal Watershed. Multiple aid stations are located along the course and are accessible by road for spectators and crew. Runners are encouraged to carry their own water because only very small cups are provided at aid stations.

Optional live tracking is available through the Webscorer app, which can send a runner location periodically during the race at no additional cost.

Overnight options at Norris Dam State Park include two campgrounds with water and electric hook ups, dump stations, and rustic and deluxe cabins. Additional lodging is available near Exit 122 on I-75 and the Andersonville Highway 61 junction.

Event policies prohibit headsets, bicycles, baby strollers, roller blades, and pets on the course. Runners under 12 must be accompanied by an adult for adult race entries. An 18:00 per mile minimum pace and sweepers will be enforced. Limited edition T shirts will be issued one per runner per season and a deluxe finisher medal is presented to finishers. Series awards and volunteer requirements apply for Treadin' Trodden Trails recognition. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
