No Man's Land Trail Run
Lake Charles, United States • 17 Oct 2026
Event Details
No Man's Land Trail Run is held on October 17, 2026 at Sam Houston Jones State Park in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The event features three distances:
- 50K
- 25K
- 7.78 Miler (approximately 8 miles)
Course Description
The course consists of an 8-mile loop around the park perimeter. It is 90% trail and 10% road, with roots, continuous twists and turns, and water crossings. Each loop has approximately 125 feet of elevation gain and descent, primarily on rolling hills.
Historical Context
The race is named after the historical "No Man's Land", a disputed territory between Spanish Texas and French Louisiana. Sam Houston Jones State Park follows the Calcasieu River, which was the eastern border of this area.
Updates for 2026
Registration defaults to a "No-Medal" option; runners can add a medal for an additional cost. All finishers receive an enamel pin with a new design each year. Due to trail changes, the 2026 course will be slightly different from previous years.
Aid Stations and Support
Two aid stations are provided: one at the start/finish pavilion with full amenities, and one at mile 4 with water, electrolytes, and snacks. Pacers are allowed only for the 50K distance during the final two loops.
Awards and Policies
Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each distance, plus a DFL (Dead Flipping Last) award. Drops in distance are allowed with prior notification. No refunds, rollovers, or transfers are available.
Additional Notes
Camping and cabins are available in the state park. A new 8 Mile Ruck division is offered in partnership with "With You", a non-profit supporting first responders. Dogs must be leashed, and headphones are permitted but runners should be mindful of other park users. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
