Nixon 5K for Title IX
The Nixon 5K for Title IX is a family-friendly run and walk held in Yorba Linda, California. The event commemorates the achievements of Title IX, the landmark equality legislation, and encourages visible support for female sports through team gear and community participation.
The main 5K follows Yorba Linda’s El Cajon Trail and is described as a moderate course. The event is accessible for a wide range of participants; strollers are welcome and dogs are allowed. A separate 1K kids run is offered for younger participants, and the kids race is open to ages 13 and under. After the event, a vendor fair takes place in the library parking lot.
Packet pick-up is available before the event at Brea Town Center and on the event day at the library parking lot. Event parking is listed at Friends Church on Mountain View Avenue; attendees should allow time to walk from parking to the registration area.
All 5K finishers receive an official finisher medal. Additional medals are awarded to overall male and female winners and to 1st through 3rd place finishers in age groups that span 10 and under through 80 and older. Overall awards are based on gun start time and age group awards are based on chip time. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
