Nipmuck South Trail Race - Mansfield, CT

The event offers two trail races in Mansfield Hollow State Park near 151 Bassetts Bridge Road in Mansfield, Connecticut. Parking is close to the start and finish area and participants should follow volunteer directions for parking. Registration closes on Fri, Jun 12 at 12:00PM ET. Pre-registration is recommended; race day registration is accepted at a higher price and is cash only.

  • 15 Miler (about 15.7 miles) Out-and-back on the Nipmuck Trail with three water stops.
  • 5K New route within Mansfield Hollow State Park with no road crossings.

The 15-mile course runs largely on the Nipmuck Trail, follows the Fenton River for much of the route, and includes small bridge crossings, fields, woods, a climb to a 50-foot cliff, and support at road crossings. The 5K route stays entirely inside the park, includes a runnable single-track forest loop, sections on the Flood Line and Blue Trails, a Yellow Trail detour, and some steep hills in the final mile. The 5K course will be marked with flagging and signs.

Tee shirts could no longer be ordered online; limited extras may be available at race day. Shirt orders had to be placed before May 22 when available as a registration add-on. Proceeds support Connecticut trail stewardship organizations including the Connecticut Forest and Park Association, Joshua’s Trust, and Northern Connecticut Land Trust. A five-race Monday evening cross country series at Wickham Park in Manchester CT, the 35th edition features roughly 2.4 to 2.6 mile courses, a discounted full-series entry, and proceeds supporting the Manchester High School Shoe Fund.

A point to point 5K in East Hampton beginning at the Connecticut Draft Horse Rescue with shuttle transport from Center School. Bib pick-up is at Center School gym and awards are presented by age group after the race.

A memorial 5K run and walk at Owen Bell Park in Dayville CT that raises funds for a scholarship for Killingly Ag-Ed seniors. The day includes a 5K, a walk, and a kids fun run on off-road paths with possible trip hazards.

A 1 mile out and back on the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail with a crushed gravel surface and hand timing. Held July 19, 2026 in East Granby in two waves with limited parking; proceeds benefit charities.
