Distances offered:

  • 15.7 miles out-and-back on the Nipmuck Trail
  • 5K new route inside Mansfield Hollow State Park

15.7 mile course details: an out-and-back mostly on the Nipmuck Trail following the Fenton River for much of the route. The course includes three water stops, support at road crossings, small bridge crossings, a climb to a 50-foot cliff, fields, and woods, and it reaches Old Turnpike Road near Route 44.

5K course details for 2026: a new route contained entirely within the park with no road crossings. The course uses a runnable single-track forest loop, sections of the Flood Line Trail and Blue Trail with technical terrain, and a Yellow Trail detour for the final loop. The final mile includes several short steep hills. Courses will be waymarked with flagging and signs.

Proceeds benefit Connecticut trail stewardship organizations, including Connecticut Forest and Park Association, Joshua’s Trust, and Northern Connecticut Land Trust. The event is organized by the Shenipsit Striders and is part of the Blue Blazed Trail Running Series. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
