The Nipmuck South Trail Race in Mansfield, Connecticut is an out-and-back trail run held at Mansfield Hollow State Park, listed as a 15 Miler. The course distance is about 15.7 miles. Registration opens January 1, 2026. Race shirts are available as an add-on during registration; shirt orders must be placed before May 22. Proceeds will be donated to Connecticut trail stewardship organizations, including the Connecticut Forest and Park Association, Joshua’s Trust, and Northern Connecticut Land Trust. The event is organized by the Shenipsit Striders and is part of the Blue Blazed Trail Running Series.

Course and logistics

The route follows the Nipmuck Trail and runs alongside the Fenton River for much of the course. The trail includes several small bridge crossings, fields and woods, and a climb to a 50 ft cliff. There are three water stops along the trail and support at three road crossings. The course was modified to bypass a missing iron bridge and a lollipop at the turnaround was removed to keep the overall distance similar. Timing will not be recorded after the official race cutoff and assistance is provided to return runners to the start after the cutoff.
