Nine Trails 35 Mile Endurance Run
The Santa Barbara Nine Trails event on March 14, 2026 features a long endurance course through the Santa Barbara front country trail system. The full endurance route runs from the Jesusita Trailhead to the Romero Canyon Trailhead and back, covering roughly 35 miles with more than ten thousand vertical feet of gain and descent. The route includes steep, rocky and technical singletrack, long slow sections with limited support, and stretches that local runners refer to as "the wall."

The course will be minimally marked with colored ribbon and all participants are required to use GPX digital mapping; a digital GPX map will be provided before the event. Full aid stations are listed at miles 9, 17, 26, 31 and at the finish, while other sections have long distances between support points. The full event is intended for experienced distance runners and is described as not crew and spectator friendly. There is no parking at the start or finish; drop off and pick up are required and personal transportation is the participant's responsibility. Registration fees are non refundable and non transferable and include on course aid, a technical tee shirt and finishers awards. The event is timed and results will be published.
