Nidderdale Road to Nowhere

Road to Nowhere is Nidderdale Fell and Trail’s challenging route starting at Scar House Reservoir in Upper Nidderdale, near Harrogate. The 30.4 km (18.9 miles) course climbs about 840 m (2756 ft) and traverses Little Whernside, ascends the Great Whernside plateau, runs the full ridge to Mossdale, then returns via Riggs Moor and Armathwaite Moor back to Scar House. The route crosses remote moorland, with panoramic views across Nidderdale, Coverdale and Upper Wharfedale. Held under FRA rules; navigation is by map and compass with GPS restricted to recording.
