The Stone Circle Marathon & Half
The Stone Circle is a full and half marathon around Gargrave in North Yorkshire, with a route that passes through Yorkshire Dales scenery and reaches the Broughton Stone Circle. The event offers both a full marathon and a half marathon on the same looped course.
The courses are looped: the half consists of one loop and the full of two loops. The multi-terrain route includes fields, footpaths, canal towpaths and a short section of country roads. Each loop features three refreshment stations offering snacks and drinks. Timing is provided by OpenTracking and the event is ARC registered. First aid cover is provided and there are toilets, changing facilities and bag storage at the start/finish.
- Marathon (full distance, two loops)
- Half Marathon (one loop)
Finishers receive a sustainable medal. Post-race recovery refreshments include Yorkshire tea, home-made cakes and chips provided by The Frying Yorkshireman. The races are volunteer run and the event is non-profit. Entry fees listed are £30 for the marathon and £22 for the half. Minimum ages are 18+ for the full and 17+ for the half.
Funds raised support a selected participant's attendance at the World Scout Jamboree in Gdansk 2027; the participant is required to fundraise over £3,300 to enable attendance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
