The New River Gorge Trail Festival takes place within the New River Gorge National Park in Fayetteville, West Virginia. The event features a variety of trail races that traverse the forest and run along the rim of the river gorge. Participants follow courses that include significant elevation changes and views of the river from several hundred feet above.

The festival offers multiple distance options and multi-race combinations:

  • 5k with approximately 400 feet of elevation gain.
  • Half Marathon (13.1 Miles) with 1,400 feet of elevation gain.
  • 50k Ultra with 3,200 feet of elevation gain.
  • Bridge Double combining the 5k and Half Marathon.
  • Bridge Double combining the 5k and 50k.

The 50k course utilizes several aid stations located at Kaymoor Top, Craig Branch, and Fayette Station Road. Drop bags are permitted for the ultra distance and can be accessed at specific aid stations during the race. Crew access is available at the Kaymoor Top and Fayette Station Road locations for both the Half Marathon and 50k events.
