Gritty Chix Mud Run

The Gritty Chix Mud Run is a non-competitive mud and obstacle event held at ACE Adventure Resort in West Virginia. The event is open to women and girls aged 10 and older. Participants can choose between two main course options:

  • 5k Tenacious Trail
  • Moxie Mile

Both routes are woodland trails that converge on a central mud obstacle course. The 5k Tenacious Trail includes additional mud holes throughout the path. The obstacles feature varying degrees of difficulty, and while upper body strength is useful, participants have the option to bypass any obstacle they do not feel comfortable completing.

The resort provides several amenities for participants, including a secure bag check, shower houses, and changing rooms accessible via shuttles. Free parking is available on-site. The event also features live music performances at an on-site bar and grill starting in the afternoon.

As a charity-focused event, a portion of the proceeds is donated to a different organization each year. Participants who register by a specific deadline receive a commemorative shirt, and all finishers receive a race medal. The resort location also offers additional land and water-based activities such as ziplining and a waterpark, which require separate passes.
