NorCal Backyard Ultra : Never Ending Fun
The NorCal Backyard Ultra takes place the weekend of October 23–24, 2026 at Beals Point, Granite Bay, California, on a loop near Folsom Lake. The event uses the Backyard Ultra format in a Last Person Standing race and a separate Mini event with a fixed 12 hour limit.
Runners complete the same loop each hour; each lap measures 4.16 miles and includes about 320 ft of elevation gain. For the Last Person Standing format, runners continue the hourly loop until only one runner remains. The Mini Last Person Standing follows the same hourly lap format but ends after 12 hours.
Onsite support is concentrated at the start/finish area. There is one aid station under a tent offering water, hydration mix, light snacks, and warm food. There are no aid stations on the course and receiving aid on course from crew is not allowed. Participants are encouraged to set up personal aid areas near the start/finish line.
All finishers receive a NorCal Backyard Ultra quarter zip and a custom wood award scaled to miles run. The top finisher receives a custom wood plaque. The event also offers a Unity Initiative where donations to selected nonprofit partners can be matched and tied to future race discounts; proof of donation is required.
