MRT Last Runner Standing 1 Mile

Statesville, United States • 7 Apr 2026

Event Format

The MRT Last Runner Standing 1 Mile is a "Last Man Standing" style event at the Statesville Soccer Complex. Participants run a 1 mile loop and must finish within a set time limit. The initial time limit is 10 minutes. All runners who finish within the limit get a 5-minute rest period, starting from the finish of the last finisher. The event then repeats with a new loop, but the time limit decreases by 30 seconds after each completed mile. This continues until no runner finishes a loop within the required time.

Awards and Series Information

Awards are given nightly for overall, masters, and 5-year age group categories. The race is part of a year-long Championship Series with 15 total races. Participants accumulate points across the series. To be eligible for the Series Championship, a runner must compete in 10 out of the 15 races. One additional point is earned for each race completed beyond 10. Completing all 15 races yields 5 extra points and a free race entry for 2027. There is prize money for the top five male and female championship winners at the end of the series.
