Mountain Man Ultra - 50K at Little Pine State Park
The Mountain Man Ultra is a 50-kilometer trail race held in Little Pine State Park near Waterville, Pennsylvania on September 26, 2026. The course follows the same route as the former Call of the Wilds 50K and uses rugged trails in Pine Creek Valley.
The route begins with a short road climb before entering the Mid State Trail, where footing becomes rocky and off-camber. The first half offers sustained technical terrain with a brief reset along Pine Creek Trail in Ramsey. The second half contains long climbs across Spiked Buck, Tiadaghton, and Pesto, with Torbert appearing around mile 26. From the top of Torbert there are about four miles remaining, including a descent down Panther Run to the finish.
Total elevation gain is roughly 7,500 feet over the 50 kilometers. Median finish time is about 7 hours 45 minutes, and most finishers record times between 6 and 10 hours. There is an 11-hour cutoff.
