Mount Helena Run

The Mount Helena Run is a trail race scheduled for its 50th anniversary edition in Helena, Montana. The course covers a total distance of 5.6 miles (approximately 9 km). Participants encounter a mix of terrain during the event, including about 1.5 miles of paved roads and over 4 miles of single-track trails.

The route involves a significant vertical component with 1,300 feet of elevation gain and loss. Runners ascend Mount Helena before descending toward the finish line located at the historic Last Chance Gulch in the downtown area. Throughout the course, the elevated vantage points provide views of the City of Helena, the Prickly Pear Valley, and the surrounding Elkhorn and Big Belt Mountains.

The event starts at the Walking Mall near Birds & Beaselys. For logistical reasons, the organizers have specified that dogs and strollers are not permitted on the course. Packet pickup is conducted on the morning of the event at the start location.
