Monsal Tinsel Trail Christmas 10k, 5k & Junior Run

The event is a festive trail running event held at Bakewell Station, Bakewell, Derbyshire. It offers three distances: a 10k, a 5k and a Junior Run, all described as multi terrain and undulating. Detailed route maps and GPX files are available for participants to view and download.

The route is traffic free and runs through the Peak District countryside. The event includes a prize for the best dressed runner in fancy dress and awards trophies and prizes for leading runners. Participants receive a bespoke medal and free photographs.

Practical information notes that there is no general parking at Bakewell Station except for disabled motorists; two large pay-and-display car parks are located about 500 metres from the station. There is additional parking, spectator facilities and a café at Hassop Station, roughly a mile along the trail.

A BS category fell race of 4.6 miles (7.4 km) with 216 m ascent around Penistone on a marked and marshalled course. Renamed in 2026 in memory of Ian Charlesworth, the event has a 200 runner limit and published results.

Experience a 10 mile fell race through the stunning Pennine moorlands and industrial heritage trails. Challenge yourself on technical terrain and enjoy a unique cake competition and post race refreshments at the finish.

A hilly 3.75 mile cross country race at Mapplewell Meadows Farm, Barnsley, run on mostly grass with some gravel and possible muddy sections. Entries are limited to 150, with prizes across age categories and a corporate team trophy.

Trail races around Castleton with waymarked short and long courses, varied terrain and panoramic ridge views. The event uses small group waved starts, requires kit for runners, offers bakery refreshments and supports path repairs.
