Monsal Metric Marathon & Half Marathon : Bakewell, Derbyshire

The event offers two metric distances on the Monsal Trail, starting and finishing at Bakewell Station, Bakewell, Derbyshire DE45 1GE. It is scheduled for 14 February 2027 and takes place on a multi terrain, undulating route that is described as flat-ish and fast and runs through the Peak District.

Included for entrants are a bespoke medal, free photographs, and trophies and prizes for leading runners. The event information will be sent to registered entrants prior to race day.

On-the-day entry fees, subject to availability, are listed as Marathon £45 and Half Marathon £35.

Logistics note: Bakewell Station has no general car parking except for disabled motorists. Two large pay and display car parks are approximately 500 metres from the station in the town centre. The road to Bakewell Station is a no through road and is not suitable for drop-offs. Additional parking, spectator facilities, and a cafe are available about one mile along the trail at Hassop Station, which also provides a warm up route to the start. A free trail music run at Ticknall with a warm up followed by an 8 km route through Calke Abbey nature park.

About 10 km of trails around rivers and meadows followed by family-style pasta and ice cream in Little Scarfs courtyard in Stockport.

A trail event around Hartington in the Peak District offering two scenic routes of about 26 miles and 15 miles, with checkpoints, aid stations, mandatory navigation kit and a village event base.

Three races at Elvaston Castle Country Park on 2 August 2026, on a flat mixed surface course through Grade II listed grounds with chip timing.
