Mohican Trail Run overview
The Mohican Trail Run offers three distance events held in Mohican Memorial State Forest near Loudonville, Ohio. The race uses loops on forest and trail systems and includes paved sections, dirt roads, and single-track trail. The course comprises multiple loops depending on the chosen race and covers trails within a 5,000-acre state forest. Trail conditions vary from muddy to hard-packed or rocky. The event serves as an index race for UTMB world series events and is a qualifying race for the Western States 100.

Course, aid, and cutoffs
Aid stations are located approximately every 5 miles and provide beverages (including soft drinks), broths, ramen, sandwiches, fruit, snacks, electrolyte drinks, and gels. Drop bags are allowed for 50- and 100-mile runners only and may be left at two specified aid stations: Covered Bridge (C) and Mohican Adventures (E). The final time limit for the 100-mile race is 32 hours. The event uses distinct bib colors and loop markings; the course is marked with permanent posts, reflective stickers, directional arrows, and temporary signs as needed.
Registration, awards, and finisher recognition
Online registration closes May 28, 2026; after that, registration is available at packet pickup on the Friday before the race and Marathon registrations on Saturday morning. Top five men and women in each distance receive cash prizes and complimentary entries for the following year (100-mile 1st place $600; 50-mile 1st place $400; Marathon 1st place $200). Runners who finish the 100-mile race within the 32-hour limit earn a custom 100-mile buckle. Medals are awarded for the 50-mile and Marathon finishes, and special multi-time finishers’ buckles exist for repeated 100-mile completions.
