Mogadishu Mile Kentucky - 6th Annual (October 3, 2026)
The Mogadishu Mile Kentucky is an annual military fitness competition and tribute held at Queenslake Horse Farm in Georgetown, Kentucky. The event honors the 19 soldiers who died in the 1993 Battle of Mogadishu and has taken place each October since 2020.
Participants move together along a wooded course that passes permanent memorial stations. Competitors carry American flags, ammo cans, and replica M16s for the full distance and may choose a 35-pound ruck option. The course includes a sequence of physical obstacles and 19 memorial stations, each marked with a name, photo, and story.
The farm sits on 140-acre grounds of rolling bluegrass, woods, and a lake. Memorial elements, including steel stations with floral surrounds, remain on site year-round. Free on-site parking is available and the venue is ADA accessible for those who need accommodations.
The competition is followed by a full day music festival and finish-line services. Recovery and care offerings, marks of remembrance, food and drink, and tributes are part of the post-course activities. Event proceeds support organizations that aid Gold Star families, wounded veterans, and first responders. The Mogadishu Mile is part of a broader set of veteran programs at the farm that include equine therapy, veterans housing, and community outreach.
