MMTA Crush Run

The MMTA Crush Run takes place on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Hurricane City Park and Meeks Mountain Trails in Hurricane, WV. The event benefits the Meeks Mountain Trail Alliance and includes the following distances:

  • 10 miles
  • 5k
  • Kids' run - approximately 1 mile

Race details

Packet pickup is available the evening before the race and on Saturday morning at Hurricane City Park's big red barn; after Saturday morning packets will be available at the start area. The start and finish are at the Huntington Federal Shelter, about a 15-minute walk from the parking lot. Participants will cross active train tracks to reach the start; the crossing will be marked and monitored by safety volunteers. Bathrooms are available in the park and portable restrooms will be at the start/finish.

Courses are on hand-built, single-track trails with rocks, roots, and rolling terrain. The 10-miler has a 3-hour time limit. The 5k has one aid station; the 10-miler has three aid station stops. Registration opens November 1, 2025, and is limited to 125 runners for the 10-miler and 125 for the 5k. Early pricing applies through November 30; later fees apply December 1 through February 5. Registrations are final and nonrefundable. Awards are given for overall and age-group placings in the 10-miler and 5k, plus team and kids' run awards. EMTs will be on call. Every runner receives event swag, a tote, and a finisher award; the finish area includes a bonfire, marshmallows, Orange and Grape Crush, and pizza.
