Hurricane 100k
The Hurricane 100k is a trail race held on the Meeks Mountain Trails in Hurricane, West Virginia. The event offers two race formats:
- 100K
- 100k Relay
The course totals 62 miles and is run as six loops of 10.3 miles each on 100% single-track mountain trails. The race command center, crew pit, and team hangout are located at the shelter in the back of the bowl. Solo runners encounter their crew between each lap.
The solo 100k carries a total prize purse of $10,000, with payouts for first through third place for both male and female solo finishers. A course record bonus of $1,000 is available for each of the male and female course records. Relay teams compete for hand-crafted awards in the all-male, all-female, and coed categories.
Relay teams consist of three members and receive one timing chip that must cross the finish six times. Hand offs must occur at the start/finish area. Coed teams must include a female who runs at least two of the six laps.
Pacers are permitted for solo runners during the final two laps. All registered runners receive a hoodie, a finisher’s award, and a tote with sponsor items; all solo 100k finishers receive a Hurricane 100k belt buckle. The race is Trail Sisters approved and provides female-specific swag, feminine products at aid stations, equal podium spots, and equal prize money.
Registration is limited to 150 runners. Pricing follows tiered deadlines and a 15% discount is offered to active military, veterans, first responders, and family members using the code "service". Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
