Frozen Sasquatch is a trail race held at Kanawha State Forest in Charleston, West Virginia on January 10, 2026. This is the 16th running of the event and it is the first West Virginia Mountain Trail Runners race of the year. The race offers two distance options:

  • 50K
  • 25K

The course is a 15.8-mile loop; 50K participants complete two laps of the loop.

Course and logistics

The route begins with a steady incline to the top of the mountain and follows mostly single-track trails through the forest and hills. The event is organized as a two-loop course for the 25K/50K format. Winter conditions are common on the trail, with snow and ice reported on the route. Packet pickup is available the day before at a running shop in South Charleston and at the pool parking lot in Kanawha State Forest on race day.
