Frozen Sasquatch is a trail race held on January 10, 2026, in Kanawha State Forest, Charleston, West Virginia (7500 Kanawha State Forest Drive, Charleston, WV 25314). The event offers two distances:

  • 25k
  • 50k

The 25k follows a single loop of the course; the 50k is two laps of that loop. The course loop measures 15.8 miles.

Course and logistics

The route begins with a steady incline to the top of the mountain and is made up mostly of single-track trails through Kanawha State Forest, including sections of the Wildcat Ridge Trail. The race takes place in winter conditions; snow and ice on the trails are commonly reported. This is the 16th running of the event and it is the first West Virginia Mountain Trail Runners race of the year.

Packet pickup is available at Robert’s Run Walk Shop in South Charleston on the Friday before the race (January 9, 2026) between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm, and at the pool parking lot at Kanawha State Forest on race day between 6:30 am and 7:30 am.
