MK24 Midsummer RunFest

MK24 is a 24 hour running event held on or close to Midsummers Day in June near Caldecotte Lake at Action4Youth Caldecotte Xperience, Milton Keynes. The event is open to individuals and to teams of 2 to 6 people. Juniors aged 12 to 18 may take part under UKA rules; juniors under 15 run half laps of approximately 5 km and must be supervised on site.

Participants are encouraged to complete as many laps of approximately 6.55 miles as they wish across the 24 hour period. Distances of note include:

  • 6.55 mile lap
  • 13.1 miles equals 2 laps
  • 26.2 miles equals 4 laps
  • Ultra is 5 laps or more; UKA rules permit over 20s only to be classified as Ultra

The event village provides facilities and services between laps, including individual shower and toilet cubicles, large marquees, field games and areas to relax. Snacks, water and hot drinks are provided free; hot meals and additional food are available to purchase from a pizza van and a charity barbecue. Camping options include ground pitches, a limited number of campervan spaces (no EHU or generators) and teepee tents to hire that sleep up to six. Entrants receive a bespoke medal, an embroidered hand towel, a cool tee shirt or vest, and distance pin badges for key milestones. Prizes are awarded for fastest laps and most laps completed.
