Course Details

The course covers a total distance of 6.4 km (4 miles) and includes a total ascent of 365 m (1200 ft). Starting from the Bennachie Visitor Centre, the route begins by following the old turnpike road. Runners then transition onto a rough uphill path that skirts around the summit of Mither Tap. The return journey involves a descent on a well-made path back toward Heather Brig, concluding with a stretch on structured paths that lead back to the visitor centre.

Participation and Logistics

Registration is open to individuals over 18 years of age. Entry is managed through a pay-on-the-day system using cash only, with a fee of £2.50. Participation is subject to a limited number of entries available on the day of the event.

Parking is available at the Bennachie Visitor Centre (OS 38 NJ 699216), where standard parking charges apply. The current course records are held by Robbie Simpson for the men's category with a time of 29:11 (2018) and Clare Whitehead for the women's category with a time of 36:06 (2016).
