Minster Challenge 2026

The Minster Challenge returns to Axminster on 29th March 2026, organised by Ruby Red Running in partnership with Axe Valley Academy. The event is held at Axe Valley Academy, Chard Street, Axminster EX13 5EA. Medals are awarded to all finishers and prizes to winners. Homemade refreshments will be provided by Axe Valley Academy pupils, parents and teachers.

Three course options are offered:

  • 12 km - hilly, muddy course; minimum age 17 on the day
  • 5 km - shorter version with hills and mud; minimum age 12 on the day
  • 3 km - short route using nearby fields; any age can enter

Parking at the school is limited, available via the Lyme Road entrance on a first come, first served basis, and may involve a donation to the owners. There are multiple public car parks in Axminster. LED Leisure has provided showers and changing rooms until 1pm for a donation to Hospice Care and a sports hall area for a bag drop.

Entry fees are listed by distance and affiliation status. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association, licence number 7835, and will be held under UK Athletics rules. Volunteers are used for marshal positions; marshals attend a briefing, receive an information pack, and use signed and numbered marshal points supported by a video guide.
