Minster Challenge 2026

The Minster Challenge returns to Axminster on 29 March 2026. The event is based at Axe Valley Academy, Chard Street, Axminster EX13 5EA and is organised in association with Axe Valley Academy.

Three courses are available:

  • 12 km
  • 5 km
  • 3 km

Medals are provided for all finishers and refreshments will be available for runners and spectators. The course terrain includes hills, muddy sections, river crossings, roots and stones, and some road crossings; routes are waymarked and marshals are present at road crossings. The 12 km course includes a water station; the 5 km and 3 km courses do not. Water will also be available at the finish and the organisers aim to be a cupless event.

Age guidance follows England Athletics and Trail Running Association recommendations: the 12 km is open to those 17 or over, the 5 km to those 12 or over, and the 3 km to any age with the option to be accompanied by an adult. There is no mandatory kit list, but trail shoes are recommended and runners should consider weather appropriate clothing.

Event facilities at the event HQ include toilets, a bag drop (bags left at own risk), and first aid. Showers are available at the nearby LED leisure centre for a small donation. Parking at the school is limited; public car parks in town such as South Street, Lyme Street, Poplar Mount, West Street and Coombe Lane are within a short walk.

The event holds a Trail Running Association licence number 7835 and will be run under UK Athletics rules. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
