Event overview
The Minster Challenge takes place in Axminster on 29 March 2026. The event offers three course options:
- 12km
- 5km
- 3km
Medals are given to all finishers and prizes are awarded to race winners. Homemade refreshments will be available, provided by Axe Valley Academy pupils, parents and teachers. Entries close on 26 March 2026.
Routes, eligibility and rules
The courses are described as hilly and muddy. The 12km course is a physical trail and is open to participants aged 17 or over on the day. The 5km course includes hills and muddy sections and is open to those aged 12 or over on the day. The 3km route includes a short marshaled road section and nearby fields and is open to all ages; younger runners may be accompanied by an adult. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association (licence number 7835) and will be held under UK Athletics rules.
Logistics and support
Event headquarters is at Axe Valley Academy, Chard Street, Axminster EX13 5EA. There is limited on-site parking, accessed via the Lyme Road entrance, and several public car parks in the town. LED Leisure has provided showers, changing rooms and an area for bag drop in exchange for a donation to Hospice Care. Volunteers and marshals receive a briefing, an information pack, signed and numbered marshal points, and a video guide for their duties.
