Minster Challenge 2026

The Minster Challenge takes place on 29 March 2026 in Axminster at Axe Valley Academy. The event is organised by Ruby Red Running in association with Axe Valley Academy. Medals are provided for all finishers and there are prizes for winners. Refreshments and homemade cakes will be available, provided by Axe Valley Academy pupils, parents and teachers. Entries close 26 March 2026.

Courses and eligibility

The event offers three courses:

  • 12km
  • 5km
  • 3km

Age requirements are:

  • Minster 12k - 17 or over on the day
  • Minster 5k - 12 or over on the day
  • Minster 3k - any age; it can be accompanied by an adult

The 12k and 5k routes are hilly and include muddy sections. The 3k includes a short marshaled road section before using nearby fields.

Logistics, rules and fees

There is limited parking at the school and multiple public car parks in Axminster. Hot drinks and cakes will be for sale at race HQ. LED Leisure is providing showers, changing rooms and an area of sports hall for bag drop in return for donations to Hospice Care. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association (licence number 7835) and will be held under UK Athletics rules.

  • Minster 5k: affiliated £5, non affiliated £7
  • Minster 3k: affiliated £1, non affiliated £3
