Mine Hill Half Marathon
The Mine Hill Half Marathon is a road running event that takes place in Roxbury, Connecticut. The course features a mix of paved roads and soft dirt paths, starting and finishing at the Mine Hill Distillery. Participants run through a landscape of country views, farms, and fields within the Litchfield Hills region.
The course layout begins with a section on Route 67 before transitioning to dirt on Judds Bridge Road. The first half of the route includes significant elevation gain, notably a one-mile climb on Shinar Mountain Road and a half-mile ascent on West Church Hill Road, which marks the highest point of the race. The second half of the course is primarily downhill or follows gentle slopes as it retraces several sections back to the finish line.
This event is organized as a cupless race to reduce waste. There are three aid stations along the route providing water and electrolyte drinks, but runners must carry their own hydration vessels.
- Half Marathon (21.1 km)
The event includes a post-race celebration at the distillery with food and beverages. All participants who complete the course receive a finisher medal and an additional finisher award. The top three overall male and female finishers receive podium awards. The course remains open until the 12:30 p.m. cutoff time. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
